I didn't add Lucas to the list because I knew no one else would have a chance here at the ranch. :sillycowboy:

Unfortunately, I can not select multiple names. My first choice is Charles Ingalls, Michael Landon was the hero of my childhood. Then come Ben Cartwright and Big John Cannon.

I liked Big John Cannon, but I thought he was rather strict and really hard on Blue more times then he should have been. In fact I think he was really hard on everyone. :sillycowboy:

I guess I would have to say Fess Parker. he favors my love for Lucas. a big strong handsome man with a son when the west was wild. I thought Ben Cartwright should
have let his sons grow up. you mentioned My Friend Flicka. I loved that show. any show about a horse I loved. we lived in the country when I was a kid and I always wanted a horse but we could not afford one. what a life Johnny had growing up in a western town riding horses every day. he had horses for many years after. here is a pic I just found

... we lived in the country when I was a kid and I always wanted a horse but we could not afford one. ...
I grew up on a dairy farm in southern Wisconsin. Like you, Wildwest, my parents couldn't afford to buy us horses. However, we had two horses, which we kept and raised for a cousin of mine. For payment, my father wanted the first born colt, which he got and it made up the second of the two horses. During the summer months, my sister and I rode bareback from early in the morning until sunset. There were times when we would ride bareback and bridleless.

Here is one of my favorite videos. It is of Stacy Westfall riding bareback and bridleless: http://tinyurl.com/hovh7rx

this was a great clip. and what a wonderful memory of riding horses for you and without saddle and bridle must have been such fun!! I was always a fan of Fury and My Friend Flicka and of course Mark riding horses. back then it was just a necessity for everyone. I even like the Cowboy Way the new show on TV. I guess i'm just in love with cowboys and horses.

my very best to you this week friend!!

This was a really hard pick for me. I went back and forth between Ben and Daniel Boone. I ultimately picked Boone because of all the wonderful tender moments between him and Israel. 🙂

I picked Charles Ingalls. I used to watch Little House on the Prairie, faithfully. As far I know, Little House on the Prairie was Michael Landon's favorite TV show that he had played a part in. Charles Ingalls was a father who was strict yet loving, held strong family values and taught his children great life principles.
