Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
More later, but let's talk about the three ladies who deserve a Best Supporting Actress nomination. There is Margot Robie as the sweet and tragic Sharon Tate. There is Margaret Qualley as the sunny and sexy Manson follower. Last bit not least, there is Julia Butters as the Method Child Actress who steals her scenes with Leonardo DiCaprio-and no jury in the world would convict her!
Leonardo DiCaprio does a great job in his role as Rick Dalton. There is something poignant about the stereotyped Western actor in a slump, but this is the first time I have seen him be funny. Spoiler Alert: seeing Leo singing and dancing on Hullabaloo is hysterical!
Brad Pitt deserves an Oscar nomination for his role as stuntman Cliff Booth. Hopefully, it will be for Best Supporting Actor-he'll have a better chance at winning.
Julia Butters tells a wonderful story about Luke Perry. She found a rock or pottery fragment and gave it to Luke. He told her he would treasure it. When they met again sometime later at a cast party, Luke took it out ofhis pocket to show her he still had it.
Spoiler alert: there are two big might-have-beens. Sharon Tate buys a copy of Tess for her husband Roman Polanski. James Stacy, who lost an arm and a leg in a motorcycle accident, rides away on his motorcycle.
Leonardo deCaprio has been nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Comedy. Brad Pitt has been nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy.
