How many Rifleman company players worked with Disney? I can think of six off the top of my head.

The big one (literally!) is Chuck Connors himself. It was his role as Burn Sanderson in the Disney movie Old Yeller that convinced the powers that be that they had to have Chuck to play Luke McCain.

Johnny Crawford was a Mouseketeer from 1955 to 1956.

Here is a pic of Johnny and Bobby in 1955. (Click on the image to enlarge):

Bobby Crawford Jr. was not a regular Mouseketeers, but he did receive his honorary Mouseketeer ears on the Talent Day Roundup.

Did Johnny have a sweet face in the above pic or what!!!

Denver Pyle's brother Willis was an animator for Disney. Denver himself portrayed Uncle Bené in the Disney film Escape to Witch Mountain.

John Dehner, North Fork's most suave outlaw, also worked as an animator for Disney. I believe he worked on Fantasia and Dumbo.

This is going off on a tangent, but Margaret was dead. There's an awful lot of Disney movies where the mother was dead. I always wonder if the tragic death of Walt Disney's mother had something to do with that. Johnny was an original Mouseketeer, and Chuck got the role of Luke McCain because of his work in a Disney movie. Somehow it seems inevitable that a strong Disney connection leads to a dead mother.

:surprisedcowboy: Where is this tangent coming from, Zanza? :dontknow:

Well, it's a tangent, Judy. It's not really related to the exact topic, it's just a thought that came into my mind because we were talking about Disney and it's a well-established fact of Disney movies. I hope it's not a problem, sometimes topics do go off in different directions and nobody seems to mind.

Jerome Courtland worked at a producer for Disney. He was a good friend of Want Disney's daughter and son-in-law Diane and Bob Miller. Mr. Courtland also had a beautiful singing voice. He sang the theme song from old Yeller.
